DIY Rituals

Of course there are so many examples of rituals and ceremonies that have been around for centuries, all throughout the world. But they can also be simple things we practice as individuals daily.

Rituals are the beautiful practices we do to connect us back to ourselves. With the fullness of every day life I find, especially as an entrepreneur, life can get chaotic and noisy. Rituals are a simple yet beautiful way to get centred.

DIY Rituals

These are the types of things I typically do at the start of my day but also if I need a reset. I find incorporating these practices brings intention to the way I operate, and therefore, starts my day out right.

  • running: I spoke about this a couple of blog posts ago, but I have really gotten back into working out (currently on week 4 of 5 days/week!). It's how I start my day and makes me feel soooo much better.
  • lemon & hot water: having lemon and hot water first thing in the morning is great for gently detoxing the body and getting your metabolism going. I don't drink coffee so this is something I really look forward to in the morning.
  • diffuser: One of my friends (Hi Kate!) got me a diffuser from Saje and I use it on the daily. I love the variety of oil blends you can choose from based on your mood that day. I gravitate to anything that involves aromatherapy!
  • face mist: speaking of aromatherapy- I loveee face mists. It's an instant mood booster and just refreshes you throughout the day. Right now I'm using the Yoga Mist from Saje but I also love any Rose Water mist or if I'm feeling fancy Caudalie Beauty Elixir is great too!

"What is the basic nutrition for the soul? Well, it differs from creature to creature, but here are some combinations. Consider them psychic macrobiotics.

For some women air, night, sunlight and trees are necessities. For others, words, paper and books are the only things that satiate. For others, colour, form, shadow, and clary are the absolutes. Some women must leap, bow, and run, for their souls crave dance. Yet others crave only a tree-leaning peace...
